Typically, a knockoff watch manufacturer will concentrate its attention on the presentation of a watch instead of the mechanical components. Nicknamed “feikos”, for fake replicas, the Seiko watch brand is unquestionably one of the most counterfeited luxury wristwatches in the entire industry. In fact, because of their unique styles and extreme popularity, it's pretty obvious why the Seiko brand has so many knockoffs available. For anyone that distributes or sells Seiko watches, it's very important to know how to tell if your merchandise is real or not.
The Seiko Back
One of the most unique features of a Seiko watch is its case backing. Coming out with its trademark back in 2002, all Seiko watches are now manufactured with a glass backing. For anyone that distributes older Seiko watches, crafted before 2002, it's important to know that the back of these timepieces were manufactured with stainless steel and not plastic. Because of it's high class profile, Seiko has never used plastic on the back of their watches. In addition, Seiko utilizes a transparent or semi-transparent sticker on the back of the watch that is easily identifiable. On the other hand, a counterfeit Seiko wristwatch will often use a transparent sticker with a red line down the middle or a hologram sticker on the back.
